Honestly, this is the part of the job that matters most, and it’s not the flush itself. It’s working out whether you actually need one. We’ll check how the system’s circulating, see whether the radiators heat evenly when we bleed and test them, have a look at what state the water’s in, and make sure the valves are doing what they should.
On a lot of Wood Green properties, especially the older converted ones, that’s usually enough to tell us what’s really going on. If sludge is genuinely restricting the flow and the rest of the system’s in reasonable shape, then yes, a flush makes sense and we’ll recommend one. But if it turns out to be a stuck valve, a pump that’s on its last legs, or radiators that were never balanced properly, that’s what needs fixing instead. A flush won’t touch any of those problems, and we’re not in the business of selling you one that won’t work.
